I’m Jillian Kostora da Silva, owner of JK Spanish & Portuguese Translation Services since 2012. I’ve been working with languages for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it. I am located in Cold Brook, New York (about a half hour from Utica) but lived in Minas Gerais, Brazil for 10 years, so while English is my native language, Portuguese is my second (and favorite) language. I possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish & History from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, where I graduated Cum Laude. I continued my studies and achieved a certificate in Dreamweaver/Flash web design from Comfamiliar Risaralda in Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia, and a Specialized Certificate in Translation (Spa-Eng) at the University of California San Diego Extension in the La Jolla area of San Diego, CA. As well as being a former member of the American Translators Association, I am a volunteer member of the Mohawk Valley Latino Association (MVLA) in Utica, NY where I volunteer my services as a translator. My most important achievements by far in life are my son, Cristóvão, and daughter, Annabella, who make regular appearances on my Facebook page and brighten up my life.
